College Rankings: Sooners Stay Undefeated, Still No. 1 in Latest NFCA/GoRout D1 Top 25 Coaches Poll (March 19, 2025)

The following information was released Tuesday by the NFCA…

With four more wins, including a road sweep of then-No. 12 Arkansas, Oklahoma remains No. 1 in the latest 2025 NFCA/GoRout Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Sooners (26-0) picked up a few more first-place votes (23) this week to extend its advantage over No. 2 Texas (8), who collected four more wins, two at then-No. 3 Florida.

After a road win at Tulsa, OU took care of business in its first Southeastern Conference road series, opening with a 7-0 shutout of the Razorbacks (20-6) and following with 6-4 and 10-7 victories.

The Longhorns (28-1) wrapped up play at the Ohio State Tournament with victories over Dayton and the host Buckeyes, who entered the poll this week at No. 25. In its first SEC action of 2025, Texas trumped then-No. 3 Florida on the road by the scores of 7-2 and 13-7 to extend its win streak to 17 games.

Following the outcome in Gainesville, LSU moved into the No. 3 spot after it thumped Louisiana, 14-0, and then swept then-No. 23 Kentucky in SEC action. The Tigers improved to 27-1 and are riding a 12-game win streak. The fourth-ranked Gators (27-4) did pick up a win over (RV) UCF.

The next four programs – No. 5 Texas A&M, No. 6 UCLA, No. 7 Tennessee and No. 8 Oregon – held their respective rankings after going a combined 14-1 last week.

Florida State and Arizona each moved up one spot to No. 9 and No. 10. The Seminoles (25-5) and Wildcats (26-4) each picked up conference series sweeps to go along with non-conference triumphs.

No. 24 Grand Canyon and previously-mentioned Ohio State enter the poll for the first time this week.  The Lopes (22-3) are ranked for the first time nationally during their Division I era, while the Buckeyes (20-6) return after a near seven-year absence (22nd – April 10, 2018).

GCU, which has won 10 straight, was ranked as high as No. 7 in NFCA’s DII poll during their final season in NCAA Division II. Two of the Lopes three defeats came at the hands of then-No. 3 Florida and then-No. 20 Oregon.

Ohio State is coming off a week in which it took two-out-of-three from then-No. 20 Nebraska in Big Ten action.

The 2025 NFCA/GoRout Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll is voted on by 31 NCAA Division I head coaches with one representing each of the NCAA’s Division I Conferences.
