College News: UT Tyler Unanimous No. 1 in NFCA/GoRout in Division II Top 25 Released This Week (Mar. 1, 2025)

The following information was provided by NFCA earlier this week…

UT Tyler swept then-No. 23 Lubbock Christian to remain as the unanimous No. 1 program in this week’s NFCA/GoRout Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Patriots (15-0 at the time; now 17-2 after this week’s poll was released) improved to 6-0 in Lone Star Conference action with the twinbill sweep.

However, expect West Texas A&M to move up from this past week’s poll from No. 7 as the Lady Buffs split a two-game series with UT Tyler and as of today (Sat. March 1) have a 19-1 record. Both teams have identical 8-1 records in the Lone Star Conference.

Auburn-Montgomery and Tampa continued at No. 2 and No. 3. The Warhawks (10-3) rebounded from a series-opening loss with a pair of wins to claim the Gulf South Conference series from new-No. 25 West Alabama. The Spartans (13-1) improved to 6-0 in Sunshine State Conference play with a three-game sweep of Lynn.

With Wilmington (1-1) slipping to No. 6 after a doubleheader split with West Chester, Angelo State and idle Augustana moved into the No. 4 and 5 rankings. The Rambelles (14-2) split in their only LSC action on the road at Texas Woman’s University.

West Texas A&M (16-0) claimed the No. 7 spot with two LSC road wins at Cameron, while No. 8 Rogers State (8-3) thumped Rockhurst, 11-1, in its only action of the week.

Francis Marion and Western Washington stayed put at No. 9 and No. 10. The Patriots (14-2) and Vikings (11-4) each ran their win streaks to 10 games with six and four wins, respectively, last week.

The biggest moves in the latter half of the poll saw Cal State East Bay rise five positions to No. 20 following a 3-1 showing at Sonoma State in California Collegiate Athletic Association action. Taking the opposite route, Cal State Dominguez Hills dropped three of four versus Cal State San Bernardino, falling from No. 18 to 24.

The 2025 NFCA/GoRout Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll is voted on by the NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll Committee. The committee consists of 16 NCAA Division II head coaches with two representing each of the NCAA’s eight regions.

The poll will be announced Tuesdays at noon ET throughout the regular season.
