With the explosion of summer collegiate softball, there are more opportunities than ever for athletes to improve their play in the off-season to get better for their upcoming college seasons.
The American Collegiate League (ACL), started in 2022, is the national body for regional leagues around the country including the Florida Gulf Coast League, the Golden Bay Collegiate League, the Scenic City Collegiate League and the Lonestar State Collegiate League.
This week, the ACL announced that several additional teams are being added to each of the leagues for competition this summer; for example, the Florida Gulf Coast, the Lonestar League and Scenic City Leagues are each adding a pair of new squads while the Golden Bay League is adding three more.
The talent level of participating college athletes continues to be impressive: previously, over 50 players who participated in the summer collegiate series would go on to compete in the Women’s College World Series.
Ryan Moore, the Executive Director of the American Collegiate League, is excited for the new opportunities that will be given to college softball standouts.
“College players and coaches will not want to miss this opportunity to have the summer experience of a lifetime,” he told Line Drive Softball earlier today.
“Players can expect to play up to 25 games including postseason action. Each league will play from June 11th to July 13th and the ACL is currently accepting player registration.”
