THE FINAL PITCH Q&A
Name: Kady Hunt
Hometown: Carl Junction, MO
High school: Carl Junction High
Club Team: Top Gun National-Groves 18U
Graduation Year: 2027
Height: 5-5
Position/s: MIF/3B
Nickname: My actual name is Kadence. My dad is a drummer and wanted to name me after a Cadence, but he spells his name with a K, so he spelled mine with a K, but Kady was just the first thing that came to mind for short of Kadence, so everyone calls me Kady, but my parents call me “Kadybug.” That originated from my great-grandma, who always called me bug.
Honors: Both my freshman and sophomore seasons, I was blessed to receive All-Conference and All-Distrct as a starting shortstop. As for other sports, I was 1st team All-State in track. My relay team broke the school record twice and took 2nd in state for the 4×100. And in powerlifting, I have broken two school records so far in power clean and 5-10-5. I also was blessed enough to be able to place 2nd at state for my weight class in powerlifting. I am also involved in my school’s Air Force JROTC program where I am the deputy Commander of the whole program.
Stats: .398 AVG, .485 OBP, 1.220 OPS, .735 SLG, 33 hits, 8 doubles, 1 triple, 8 HRs and 31 RBIs.
