THE FINAL PITCH: BROOKLYN CLINE
Uncommitted 2029 MIF Brooklyn Cline recently talked to Line Drive Media about Texas Bombers Gold-Malpass, winning a 14U Tier 2 Alliance national championship with Bombers Gold Futures-Malpass, Texas players, Impact Gold-Jazz, athletic family, future college, college camps, future occupation, history, Jen Ogee, “The Maze Runner,” “Power,” “Outer Banks,” “Avatar” and juggling.
THE FINAL PITCH Q&A
Name: Brooklyn Cline
Hometown: College Station, TX
High School: A&M Consolidated
Club Team: Texas Bombers Gold-Malpass 14U
Graduation Year: 2029
Height: 5-7
Position/s: MIF
Nickname: “Little B” because I train with another Brooklyn, who is older than me (hers is “Big B”).
Social Media: @BrooklynCline14 on Twitter
Travel Ball Fall 2024 Stats: .330 AVG, .898 OBP and .959 fielding percentage.
Travel Ball Summer 2025 Stats: .351 AVG, .940 OBP and .983 fielding percentage.
Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them? My older sister joined then when she was my age. We were living in Nebraska at the time and it was just a lot of travel. We decided to move to College Station the next year. I saw what the organization brought and I wanted to be a part of it!
Tell us about your team (Bombers Gold Futures-Malpass) winning a 14U Alliance Tier 3 national championship (in 2025)? We started off Game 1 of the series with a loss. That lit a fire in us and I knew we had to get motivated and step things up. We came together as a team and played clean in Games 2 and 3 and ended up winning the series and taking home the national championship. This game was special to me because it was against a lot of my former teammates from back in the Midwest.
What makes players from the state of Texas special? Texas players are something else! They eat, sleep, breathe softball! You have to love this sport to play competitively. To play competitively you need to work hard on and off that field. And that’s what Texas players do!
Which player/team has been your toughest opponent and why? I would have to say Impact Gold-Jazz has been our toughest opponent because their lineup is just stacked! Every person in the lineup hits like a 4-hole hitter. Texas Bombers 14U Gold, our sister team, is also a fun team to play against and train with, as they have some amazing athletes and are one of the best in the country.
Do you have any family members/siblings that are athletes? My older sister, Makenna Cline (2027), plays for Virginia Unity-Johnson/VB. Her and I will get to take the field together for the first time this year in high school at A&M Consolidated. I also have twin siblings, Stella and Sam Cline, who are 9 years old, and also play softball and baseball!
What are you looking for in a future college? I want to play softball at a school, which offers a competitive program where I can grow, contribute and be challenged. I want to make sure it is the right fit for me as a person and an athlete! I want to enjoy my time and people that are there. I only get to experience it just the one time, so I want to make sure I do it right.
What college camps have you attended and are you planning to attend and why? I have attended a Texas A&M camp. I plan on going to Florida because Tim Walton is an awesome coach and I have to admit their colors are awesome! I also plan on going to Tennessee, Clemson, Florida state and South Carolina!
What areas are you interested in future occupations and why? I’m not sure quite yet what I want to study in college. But one thing I do know for sure is that I don’t ever want to work for someone else. I want to work for myself!
What’s your favorite subject to study in school and why? History because I find it so interesting about what happened in the past and how people lived!
Who is your sports hero and why? My Aunt Jen (Ogee, my dad’s sister), who was an All-American softball player for the University of Washington. She has given my sister and I some great advice throughout our softball journeys.
What’s your favorite book to read and why? “The Maze Runner” (by James Dasher) because it’s one of my favorite movies and it’s such a good thriller.
What’s the best hype song and why? “Power” (by Kanye West) cause the beat is super good and because of A&M football!
What’s your favorite TV show to binge and why? “Outer Banks” because it’s suspenseful and popular! And I love all the treasure!
What’s your favorite movie and why? “Avatar” because of the action and thrill! And they’re blue!!
Do you have a secret talent/skill? I can juggle!!
