Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them? After leaving a previous team and wanting to find the right fit with a competitive organization that was going to push me, Iowa Premier came into the picture being mentioned by an old teammate. We had already heard about Iowa Premier Fastpitch (IPF) and knew they were a very respected program, we ended up reaching out to Greg Dickel and from there it has given me the opportunity to reach where I am today. IPF isn’t only about softball, but they’re also going to make sure you leave the program being successful outside of softball. They also hold you accountable so you can get better from it! I’ve learned that with IPF, our journey is what we make it and the coaching staff only helps make that journey better. Coach Dickel always says pressure is a privilege and I take note of that.

Tell us about your experience at PGF/Alliance Nationals? Since I’ve been with IPF, I’ve played in two Alliance Nationals. The first one in California (in the) summer of 2024 and (in) Indiana (the)summer of 2025. From my experiences, I appreciate the organization and the competition. I liked the structure of the bracket because it was similar to the Women’s College World Series. I haven’t been to PGF Nationals since 2022 and from what I can remember the environment was very fun! Playing near the beach is the best! Can’t wait to go back to Huntington Beach this summer.

What makes players from the state of Ohio special? Sports culture is very big in Ohio not only in softball, but in all sports. This has taught many of us from a young age that if we put the effort in it, it will reward us. Ohio teaches us hard work and consistency. Another major factor Ohio players face is the long winters and having to adjust to working out in the indoors a lot longer than warmer regions. With this aspect, it shows how determined we are with staying consistent and working hard.

Which player/team has been your toughest opponent and why? I’ve had the chance to play a lot of talented teams, but Impact Gold-Jazz is always a very tough opponent. They’re a very gritty team and always bring there best.

What have you faced/overcome in life that has made you the person you are today? Recently, I faced my mom being diagnosed with breast cancer and it’s helped shape me into who I am today. It has helped me realize how thankful we should all be for our loved ones, because you never know what can happen in life and how quickly things can change. She is now one year cancer free!

With softball, I learned at a young age that it’s huge to overcome our mistakes very quickly, not only has this helped me in the game, but in life and being able to handle failures and learn from it.

Do you have any family members/siblings that are athletes? Destini Ewing, sister, played Division 1 softball at Charleston Southern University; and Tom Ewing, dad, was a multi-sport athlete and played competitive slow pitch softball.

What are you looking for in a future college? I’m looking for (a) college that will push me to better on and off the field. After graduating, leading me into a good career path helping me shape my future and becoming a better person.

What college camps have you attended and are you planning to attend and why? I’ve attended Duke, Oregon, Georgia, South Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Kentucky, Arkansas, Oklahoma and North Carolina. I attended these camps because I’ve found interest in their coaching staff and environment. I also liked getting a good idea of how their program is ran through there camps, being able to tour there facilities and get a feel for campus.

What areas are you interested in future occupations and why? I don’t have a specific major, but I do know I want to be surrounded in professional sports management and marketing fields. I find interest in this because I love competitiveness and being around sports.

What’s your favorite subject to study in school and why? My favorite subject in school right now is psychology. I love learning how the brain works and reasoning of why people act the way they do in situations.

Who is your sports hero and why? (NBA legend) Kobe Bryant is my sports hero because his work ethic, he was incomprehensible compared to many others, which is what made him so different. I love how passionate he was about the game and loving the little things like the sound of the ball going through the net. He didn’t believe in failure, just improving because whether you do good or bad, you have to wake up the next day and do it all over again. He really inspires me!

What’s your favorite book to read and why? My favorite book to read is the Bible for so many reasons. But mainly because it teaches me the ways of life and the great sacrifice Jesus Christ made for all of us on the cross.

What’s the best hype song and why? One of the best hype songs has got to be “Dreams and Nightmares” by Meek Mills because of the beat drop.

What’s your favorite TV show to binge and why? My favorite TV show to binge watch has to be “Outer Banks” because the plot of the movie is so good and all the seasons are good, in my opinion. It never gets boring.

What’s your favorite movie and why? One of my favorite movies is “Safety” because it’s based off of a true story and really good to watch.

Do you have a secret talent/skill? Love to lift. I am good at juggling and good at doing nails!
