Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them? I started playing for the Peppers when I was 13 years old and I’m so beyond happy I joined the organization. We have a family atmosphere and I love playing with my best friends.
Tell us about your experience at PGF Nationals? PGF Nationals is one of my favorite tournaments because it allows our team to bond on the beach and play against some of the best competition.
What makes players from the state of Missouri special? Missouri softball players are special because we are so close to the Kansas City area and have the opportunities to play for some of the best teams in the country and play in tough tournaments.
What was your highlight of the fall? What have you been focusing on this offseason? The highlight of my fall was placing 1st in our last fall tournament and it was extra special because it was my last fall tournament with the Peppers. We played extremely well against some very good competition and got some big wins. This offseason, I’ve been training hard to perfect my pitching mechanics and improve my riseball.
Which player/team has been your toughest opponent and why? Two years ago our team beat the Aces (Fastpitch Club), 3-2, in a long 7-inning game. I pitched the whole game and the whole lineup was stacked with some really great players. It was a very well-fought win for our team.
What have you faced/overcome in life that has made you the person you are today? I have learned to be mentally strong on and off the softball field and I believe that has helped shape me into the person I am today. Softball has taught me many valuable life lessons, but one of the biggest is to take care of your mental health.
Do you have any family members/siblings that are athletes? My parents, Brandon and Megan (Brewster), played sports all of high school. My dad, Brandon, played football, basketball and baseball. My mom, Megan, did track, basketball and softball. My brothers, Brecken and Maddox (Brewster), are young and getting into sports. They play football, wrestling and baseball.
Why did you choose to commit to Missouri State? I chose to commit to Missouri State because I truly felt like it was home to me. It is only 90 minutes away from my house, so it’s nice for me to be close to my family. I really love the coaches and players at Missouri State and I’m so excited to be a part of the team and atmosphere next year.
What areas are you interested in future occupations and why? I plan to major in Speech Pathology because it has many different career opportunities. My grandma was a speech pathologist and she influenced me to major in it because I look up to her so much.
What’s your favorite subject to study in school and why? My favorite subject in school is English. I’ve always loved to read and English has always been an easy subject for me to pick up on.
Who is your sports hero and why? I look up to Montana Fouts (a former NFCA National Pitcher of the Year at Alabama). She is an amazing pitcher that overcame an injury. She showed that she leans on God and she is a great role model to look up to.
What’s your favorite book to read and why? My favorite book is “It Ends With Us” by Colleen Hoover. I love romance books, but it also has a very emotional and moving storyline.
What’s the best hype song and why? The best hype song is “Enter Sandman” by Metallica. My hometown plays the song at our football games and for other sports and it hypes everyone up every time.
What’s your favorite TV show to binge and why? My favorite TV show is “One Tree Hill.” It’s an iconic show and I love the storyline of it, along with the characters.
What’s your favorite movie and why? My favorite movie is “50 First Dates.” It’s a comfort movie to me and I love rom-coms and anything with Adam Sandler.
Do you have a secret talent/skill? I don’t really have any secret talents, but I have hobbies like reading, hunting and, of course, softball!
