Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them? I currently play for Impact Gold National 2029-Holmes. This team is out of Louisiana and coached by Coach Chad Holmes and Brannin Hagan. I always knew of this team because we always played against them, but I got an opportunity to pick up with them in Colorado last year and played third base. I had always been an infielder growing up, but I had spent the last four years as a center fielder. I love both positions, but getting an opportunity to play infield again made me really excited.
Tell us about your middle school team and how you did? My middle school team is so much fun to play with. It consisted of girls that I have played with since I was 6 years old. All of them are so much fun to play with a great group of athletes. Last year, our overall record was 11-0. We also won the championship. In 2022, I was given Defensive Player of the Year playing any and everywhere I was needed. In 2023, I was given Offensive MVP batting an average of .667 with 14 hits, 1 HR, 8 singles, 3 doubles, 2 triples and 10 RBIs.
Can you tell us about your experience at the USA Softball All-American Games? The USA All-American Games was an amazing experience. I got a chance to play on the same field that the WCWS is held, which was an amazing experience. We (as a team) also got a chance to go in the media room and get our pictures taken. We also got a chance to meet Patty Gasso. My team was coached by Coach Vicki Corn and I played center field. One of my favorite highlights was throwing a girl out at home from center field.
Can you tell us about your summer season and what you expect/goals for PGF Nationals? My summer experience has consisted of traveling, traveling and more traveling. The fact that I get to go places that I have never been before is exciting. For example, this year I get a chance to go to California to play in the PGF Nationals, which I am really excited about for PGF Nationals. My goals are to compete, be a good teammate and do whatever it takes to help my team succeed.
Which player/team has been your toughest opponent and why? I couldn’t just choose one opponent because everyone we have played gave us tough competition. When this question is asked, multiple good teams come to my mind. It’s nearly impossible to choose one.
What have you faced/overcome in life that has made you the person you are today? I have faced several challenges in my life both on and off the diamond. However, Being able to be a great athlete and still be a honor student has been very challenging at times, but also rewarding. It has helped me learn how to manage my time wisely, be more responsible and focus on what’s important.
What are you looking for in a future college? In a future college, I’m looking for a place to call home, a place that’s fun, but also stands on business, a place with a good softball program and academics, etc.
What areas are you interested in future occupations and why? My future occupation will most likely have something to do with animals, but I am not 100 percent sure what I want to do just yet.
What’s your favorite subject to study in school and why? My favorite subject is lunch, because I love to eat food!!! Lol! just kidding. My favorite subject is math, because I am really good with numbers.
Who is your sports hero and why? My sports hero is Jayda Coleman. I love watching her play and her energy is so amazing.
What’s your favorite book to read and why? My favorite book to read is “Wonder” (by RJ Palacio). I love to read this book because it is based off of real life situations. It teaches people not to judge someone based off of how they look and shows how bullying can affect others.
What’s the best hype song and why? The best hype song is “Every Chance I Get” (by DJ Khaled featuring Lil Baby) or “Big League” (by Yo Gatti, Moneybagg, Lil Poppa & Mozzy). These songs will put you in a really good mode before a game, and the best is fire!
What’s your favorite TV show to binge and why? I don’t really have a favorite TV Show.
What’s your favorite movie and why? “The Sandlot.” This movie is very funny and entertaining to watch. I can watch it over and over again.
Do you have a secret talent/skill? I am really good at tumbling.
