Line Drive Softball likes to find out what the top club players are thinking about the latest issues, so we throw out a question to some of them from around the country. Here’s the latest question:
Here’s how they answered:
Rylie Bumgarner, 2028, RHP, Lady Magic-Asia/Pleasant Valley High, CA, uncommitted, #54 in the 2028 Line Drive Hot 100:
“My softball New Year’s resolution is to continue getting stronger physically and mentally, to get past 65-mph pitching by end of summer and to continue growing as a team with my Lady Magic-Asia girls!
Macie Dever Boaz, 2026, C/3B, Impact Gold National 07/Northpoint Christian High, MS, Arkansas, #12 in the 2026 Line Drive Hot 100:
“My resolution is to work mostly on the mental side of the game and not only be able to be unstoppable physically on a field, but mentally and not let anything take me down or hold me back mentally because we play such a failure-filled game and you are gonna fail more than you succeed. And to really just (be) focused on the good instead of the bad and not letting that bring my game or success down!!”
Analise DeWitt, 2026, MIF/OF, Iowa Premier National/Williamsburg High, IA, Oregon:
“My New Year’s resolutions are I want to improve overall in the game of softball, but more importantly I want to win a national championship at Alliance Nationals!”
Madi Doty, 2026, RHP/OF, Texas Glory-Shelton/Grandview High, TX, Texas, #1 in the 2026 Line Drive Hot 100:
“My New Year’s resolutions are gaining more spin and speed pitching wise and gain more power at the plate.”
Sidney Forrester, 2025, 1B/OF, Aces Fastpitch Club/Miami High, OK, Missouri, #22 in the 2025 Line Drive Hot 100:
“To finish out this last ride of travel ball healthy and happy with my friends and teammates that I’ve got to share the field with the last few years. Also, to make a mark in the game that makes my future home of Mizzou proud they recruited me.”
Mackenzy “Mack” Glenn, 2025, OF, Colorado Batbusters National-Smith/Lutheran High, CO, Tulsa:
“Outside of regular club workouts and practices this year, I’m going to be waking up before school in the mornings 3-4 times per week for strength and agility focus with a trainer. Basically, getting rid of sleeping in to get better 💪”
Lilly “Goose” Goodwin, 2026, LHP/1B, Arizona Rising-Appel/Desert Mountain High, AZ, Northwestern, #14 in the 2026 Line Drive Hot 100:
“Yeah! I have a few: 1. Gain 2 mph pitching; 2. Win state (again); 3. More consistent batting average; (and) 4. Final 4 finish in PGF.”
