Line Drive Softball likes to find out what the top club players are thinking about the latest issues, so we throw out a question to some of them from around the country. Here’s the latest question:
Do you plan to give/receive any softball Christmas presents? What, for whom and why?
Here’s how they answered:
Caigan Crabtree, 2025, MIF, Texas Bombers Gold-Smith/Melissa High, TX, Texas:
“For my little sister, I am getting her something special to help her fall in love with softball. Her first glove — and hopefully she’ll feel proud every time she puts it on. She has been one of my biggest supporters and sacrificed so much. Hopefully, we can spend time together practicing and she can start loving the sport as much as I love it.
“For my mom, who’s been my biggest supporter and coach, I’m going to get her a Texas softball jacket. She’s given so much of herself to help me become the athlete I am today and she deserves something special that shows just how much she means to me and we have been able to be on a journey together that has helped me reach my dreams. HOOK ‘EM🤘🏻
“And for both of them, I’m going to write a heartfelt note reminding my little sister to have fun, work hard and always believe in herself, and telling my mom how grateful I am for her endless support. These gifts aren’t just about softball—they’re about showing love and appreciation to the two people who mean so much to me.”
Sophia Burmeister, 2025, C, Breakers Labs-Bobby/Poway High, CA, Clemson:
“That is a fun question! I will start by saying I already received my new CRBN bat as an early Xmas present when I broke mine in the cage a few weeks ago.
“As far as gifts for other people, I got my sister a new bat bag for her second season of 8U. I also saved to get my grandparents some Clemson gear!
“Hypothetically, I would love to see the Clemson football team beat Texas today and continue to win to the championship. I would also wish for my high school team to win CIF Open Division for the third straight year this season. And last but not least, I would like for our Breakers travel team to win PGF (as there is such strong competition, I would settle for 3rd, lol).
“My gift/goal for myself would be making the All-American senior game!”
Jaelynn Anthony, 2026, RHP/SS, Wasco Diamonds/Oswego High, IL, Purdue:
“I haven’t, yet, opened any of my gifts. However, I did get my pitching Coach Jill Waldron a gift basket. The basket was filled with all of her favorite things and I included a Purdue beanie hat and a Purdue glass! I wanted to show how much I appreciate all that she does for me! She has been through my pitching journey since I was 12 (years old) and is a huge supporter of mine! I wouldn’t be the player I am now without her!”
Kensington “Kensi” Arringdale, 2026, MIF/OF/UT, Mojo-Lewis/Ankeny High, IA, Mississippi State:
“I, personally, didn’t get any softball presents, but my dad asked for some new softballs.”
