Club News: Coach Kerry Holcombe Returns to EC Bullets (Aug. 6, 2025)

Coach Kerry Holcombe is heading back to familiar territory, rejoining the prestigious East Cobb Bullets organization where his coaching career first took off in 2015, Holcombe announced on Wednesday.

After a highly successful three-year run with Georgia Impact, Holcombe returns to the Bullets with an impressive resume and a wealth of experience coaching elite-level fastpitch talent.

Holcombe originally spent seven seasons (2015–2022) with the EC Bullets, racking up over 400 wins and earning a reputation for developing young talent and leading dominant squads at the regional and national level. His tenure with the Bullets included multiple championships in the younger age groups and he was instrumental in laying the foundation for long-term success within the program.

His recent chapter with Georgia Impact was equally impactful. In just three seasons, Holcombe’s teams compiled nearly 200 wins, showcasing consistency and excellence on the biggest stages. Under his leadership, Georgia Impact earned:

  • 3rd Place at PGF Premier Nationals
  • Top-15 finish at PGF Premier Nationals
  • Two Top-10 finishes in the Colorado Sparkler National Power Pool (including a 3rd-place run)
  • Scenic City Fall Top 25 runner-up

Holcombe also played a vital role in player development, sending every member of his 2025 class on to play collegiate softball. Standout performers from his Impact roster include:

  • Payton Roberson (2026) — a Florida Gulf Coast commit who hit a .400 this summer.
  • Gracyn Fuller and Abby Griffis (2027s) – both returning pitchers dominated while playing up at the 18U level, gaining valuable experience and turning heads with their performance.

Joining Coach Holcombe at East Cobb will be pitching coach Morgan Bruce, who has coached alongside him since 2022. A former standout pitcher at Georgia Tech, Bruce brings high-level playing experience and elite pitching instruction to the program.

With his return to the East Cobb Bullets, Coach Holcombe brings a track record of winning, player development and a deep passion for the game. The Bullets not only welcome back a familiar face, but one who has proven time and again he can compete with and beat the best in the country.

Holcombe is expected to continue building championship-caliber teams, with a renewed focus on both competitive excellence and preparing athletes for the next level.
