The 2027 Line Drive Hot 100 will be updated in August (see schedule below) and nominations are currently being accepted from NOW thru Monday, August 11, 2025.

The rankings will will start Monday, August 18 with the countdown going to the Top 10 on Friday, August 29, 2025. 

Following the HOT 100 reveal, we’ll also list players 101-plus and rankings by Position and Region as well as a spotlight on the No. 1 player.

Each weekday for a two-week period, we will honor deserving prospects via our countdown of 10 spots each day following this schedule:

WEEK 1:

• #’s 90-81 (Tue., Aug. 19, 2025)
• #’s 80-71 (Wed., Aug. 20, 2025)
• #’s 70-61 (Thu., Aug. 21, 2025)

WEEK 2:

• #’s 50-41 (Mon., Aug. 25, 2025)

Following the Class of 2027 rankings, the Class of 2026 will be next… here’s the schedule for the upcoming senior class: 

• 2026 Line Drive HOT 100:
  • nominations officially open on Monday, Sept. 1 (Labor Day) & close Monday Sept. 22.
  • ranking postings run from from Sept. 29 to Oct. 10, 2025

The Line Drive HOT 100 is led by Line Drive Softball Executive Editor Brentt Eads, who began the softball player and team rankings format 15 years ago and in that time has done over 40 grad class rankings.

Each class is updated several times leading up to the players’ high school graduation and transition into college.
