2026 3B/SS/1B Emoni Lam Sam, who de-committed from Cal on Tuesday, committed to San Diego State, Sam announced on Twitter on Thursday.

Sam, #14 in the 2026 Line Drive Hot 100, plays for Long Beach Poly High where she helped the Jackrabbits to a 20-7 record and batted .511 with 11 home runs, 10 doubles, four triples, 47 runs and 50 RBIs as a junior. She helped Long Beach Poly win its first CIF-SS championship this past season.

She plays travel ball for Firecrackers Premier-RTY 18U.

Cal head coach Chelsea Spencer stepped down in June after leading the Bears to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

San Diego State is led by head coach Stacey Nuveman Diaz, a former two-time Mountain West Coach of the Year, who has led the Aztecs to four NCAA Tournament appearances.
