It’s a long winter season but look at it this way: we’re halfway through January, February is a short month (only 28 days!) and March means spring is upon us and so will be soon the summer!

Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s plan for when it’s time for to attend a college softball camp—be it in June or sometime else.

Scott Berndes is the President of the Power Surge travel organization out of San Diego and has coached for nearly a quarter of a century highlighted by his winning two national championships and a runner-up finish at PGF Nationals in 2018.

Today, Coach Scott shares his thoughts on how to impress at a college camp.

College Camp Must Do’s

  1. Hustle your fanny off!!!!
  2. Hustle your behind off!!!!
  3. Wear something that stands out.
  4. Never show negative emotion. If you miss a ground ball, move on to the next play like it never happened.
  5. Hit, hit, hit.
  6. Be loud!
  7. Be very polite to coaches.
  8. Be the first one at every drill.
  9. Meet new people.
  10. When the camp is over, shake the coaches’ hands.
  11. Take note of what the coach tells you (VERY IMPORTANT!)
  12. Write a ‘Thank You” email.
  13. Hustle.
  14. Hustle.
  15. Hustle.
