The Aces Fastpitch travel ball organization – led by husband-and-wife co-owners and coaches Ryan and Taylor Taylor – has an impressive stat to show players and their families.
The Kansas City-based club program has 20 kids in the NCAA post-season tournament this year—14 of which are starters or big-time contributors for their teams.
Ryan and Taylor themselves are former college athletes and have two young sons, but still have found the time to make the Aces one of the top travel ball programs in the country as shown by former players having received over $5 million in athletic scholarships.
So what makes the organization so successful?
Line Drive Softball asked Taylor Taylor, who herself played college ball at South Alabama in the Sunbelt Conference, what the keys have been to their successes in getting their athletes to the next level.
“We have really good kids who buy into a process of preparation,” she beings. “They don’t want to just earn a roster spot but want to contribute. They are highly motivated kids and excellent students as well). We are both blue collar people who understand you earn it!”
The husband-and-wife leaders stress the mental side of the game which she says starts with themselves.
“Our mentality can’t help but rub off on them,” she continues, “but they trust us. This is always about them and their abilities/success.”
Whatever the Aces leaders are doing, it’s working.
