One of the instructors at the Canadian Elite Softball Camp last week was Makenna Bellaire, the soon-to-be junior catcher at Ole Miss.
After playing for the Florida Gators as an early enrollee in January 2025, Makenna transferred to the Rebels program where this year as a sophomore she backed up senior starting catcher Kennedy Bunker.
From Lutz, Fla., Makenna attended Land O’Lakes High where she was a three-time 1st Team All-State honoree.
At the Elite Camp, she taught receiving and framing, blocking, pop times and throw-downs, and the “game-calling and leadership that make a catcher the engine of the defense.”
Line Drive Media’s Brentt Eads interviewed Makenna during the event and here’s what she had to say about her softball background, what she loves about Ole Miss, why it’s important to be yourself and have fun on the field and much more!
