OC Batbusters-Stith/Arduino put the finishing touches on a two-game sweep, beating Atlanta Vipers 2031-Kotula, 12-1, in Game 2 of the national championship series in the Alliance Fastpitch Championship Series (AFCS) on Monday at Kokomo High in Indiana.

“To win the Colorado Sparkler Power Pool and the Alliance Tier 1 National Championship is special,” Batbusters coach Tony Arduino said.

“This group is like no other I’ve coached. We push them to the brink every weekend and they respond. They’ve won eight tournaments since last August, but it’s not about that. It’s about being better teammates, better competitors and better people. That’s what this is about. It’s an honor to coach them and be a part of the Batbuster organization.”

2031 C/1B/OF Julie Arriaga (.423 AVG, 11 hits, 1 HR, 10 RBIs, 6 runs), 2031 IF/OF Ellie Jezowski (.441 AVG, 15 hits, 9 RBIs, 13 runs), 2031 3B/C Penny Bond (.429 AVG, 9 hits, 9 RBIs, 2 runs), 2031 MIF Sam Leopard (.414 AVG, 12 hits, 1 HR, 11 RBIs, 4 runs), 2032 1B/3B/P Ella Iacenda (.481 AVG, 13 hits, 5 RBIs, 2 runs, 45 IP, 56 Ks, 0.93 ERA) and 2031 P/UT Emma Fuentes (1.17 RA, 12 IP, 12 Ks) were the leaders for the OC Batbusters.

OC Batbusters-Stith/Arduino defeated Texas Glory 2K13, 11-0, Tampa Mustangs Rene-Pontbriant, 5-2, Impact Gold National-Ostarticki, 8-1, Atlanta Vipers 2031-Kotula, 4-0, and, 12-1, in Elite 8 bracket games.

Atlanta Vipers 2031-Kotula beat Texas Bombers Gold, 3-2, Impact Gold National-Ostarticki, 4-1, Tampa Mustangs Rene-Pontbriant, 15-5, and lost to OC Batbusters-Stith/Arduino, 4-0, and, 12-1, in Elite 8 bracket games.
