The 2026 Alliance Fastpitch Championship Series (AFCS) started Monday (July 13) in the Indianapolis metro area with 10U and 12U teams checking in and runs through Sunday, July 26 with the 16U and 18U championship games wrapping up that day.

Kallaway Crenshaw, a pitcher/outfielder ranked No. 11 national in the Line Drive Media 2031 HOT 100 and a member of the Atlanta Vipers – Kotula team, is blogging for us at the AFCS 12U Nationals.

Kallaway is sharing behind-the-scenes coverage from the ground in Indiana, including daily recaps, mic’d-up players, highlights, and everything that goes into competing at AFCS.

Day 2 Recap

Day 2 at the AFCS is in the books!

We took the field this morning against Ohio Lasers-Steed, and our offense came out swinging. We put up six runs in the first inning and never looked back.

Our lineup finished with nine hits, including five singles, three doubles, and a triple, on our way to a 10-2 run-rule victory in five innings. Cam (Algeo) had herself a day accounting for four of the hits and three RBIs.

Pitcher Layla (D’Amico) earned the win in the circle, with Kayla (Gardner) coming in to record the save. Together they combined for a 1.40 ERA and five strikeouts to help secure the victory.

We will back on the field tomorrow at 9:00 am as we continue our run at the AFCS!

After taking care of business on the field, it was time to enjoy the rest of the day. The dads headed out for a round of golf while some of the girls went shopping and others cooled off at the water park.

Later in the evening, we all got dressed up, took some pictures, and enjoyed dinner together. To top off a great day, Coach Joe (Kotula) treated the entire team to ice cream as a reward for all the hard work so far!

These moments away from the field are just as special as the ones on it. They build friendships, create memories, and make this team feel like family. Looking forward to getting back after it tomorrow!

Hoping for two more wins to put us closer to reaching the Elite 8.
