There’s no doubt that Leah Byrd, the tremendous senior infielder and pitcher from Kennesaw, Georgia is one of the top players in the recently graduated Class of 2026.
As a sophomore at North Cobb (Kennesaw, Ga.) High, she set a school record with a.885 slugging percentage and earned what would be the first of her three All-State honors.
Her senior year, the Auburn signee batted .484 with seven home runs and, once again, a strong .629 on-base percentage as she was walked 32 times because opposing pitchers just simply didn’t want risk pitching to the dangerous hitter!
Strong in the circle as well with a 2.00 ERA, Leah helped lead her team to a third straight regional title and a Final Four appearance in the Georgia high school playoffs.
For her prep career, Leah finished with 88 pitching wins and had 609 strikeouts in 103 innings while setting a school record with 30 home runs and had 103 walks total.
