With the Women’s College World Series wrapping up, high school softball playoffs still going on in many states and the start of travel ball, it makes sense there weren’t as many commits this week… but there were some big ones.

Danni Lynn, a 2027 catcher and corner infielder with Team NC coached by Kevin Hinde, committed this week to the Maryland Terrapins.

The Big Ten-bound backstop (say that fast five times!) is the last of the 16 players on the travel team to commit and she becomes the third to the University of Maryland.

Coach Hinde says of his junior backstop:

“Danni has a high softball IQ and game awareness, along with the tools needed to play at the highest level.”

“She can hit for power and has advanced footwork and receiving skills behind the plate. Maryland is getting a player that is super competitive and performs well in high pressure situations.”

Kudos to Danni also to Kevin and his success in getting his entire team to the next level.

Coach Kevin has players going to a wide range of schools—from North Carolina and Princeton to Alabama-Birmingham and College of Charleston—a total of 11 different collegiate softball programs.

“Another year and another fully committed roster!” he added. “It’s so fun helping players each year achieve their dreams!”
