In The Spotlight: Our Q&A with 2030 HOT 100 P/1B Chloe Taynor Who Is “Glorifying the Lord Through the Talents He Has Gifted Me With” (April 15, 2026)

Chloe Taynor’s resume, both on and off the field, is impressive any way you look at it.

The Buckeye State athlete, who was recognized as a 2030 HOT 100 selection with Top 25 talent, has played in the top tournaments in the country and won multiple championships while she herself has won numerous individual awards.

Chloe made the Alliance Nationals All-Tournament Team as a pitcher at Tier 1, 3rd place finish.

Last fall season, for example, Chloe was 21-4 with two saves against the elite teams in the country in her age division.

She’s smart and articulate, but what quickly strikes you about Chloe is her faith.

She’s spiritual and not afraid to confess that her success has come through preparation and “trusting in the Lord.”

Chloe reveals that she prays before and after games as well as before every at-bat. She doesn’t just talk about faith—she lives it and it’s ingrained in her.

Her music preferences include spiritual gospel themes, and she has “Trust in the Lord” inscribed on her glove along with the scripture Joshua 1:9 which says:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Strong and courageous, that she is… and it’s refreshing to see someone so strong and confident in her beliefs like Chloe is.

Club Team: Indiana Magic Gold 2030 Rogers/Fritsche
High School (City/ST):  Miami East (Ohio) High School/Ohio

Chloe Taynor is one of the top pitchers in the 2030 class and is 31-3 in her career in semi-finals and championship games.

Line Drive Media: In your eyes, what are some of the top honors and accomplishments you’ve achieved individually and with your teams
Chloe Taynor: In my eyes, some of my top individual honors and accomplishments include being named to the All-Tournament Team as a pitcher at the AFCS Alliance Nationals, where we finished 3rd in the nation.

We were also the only non-California team to make the Final Four, representing Indiana Magic Gold.

As for team accomplishments, I’ve been fortunate to win 13 PGF Super Select glass trophies, including eight championships and five runner-up finishes. These came as a member of Indiana Magic Gold 2030 Fritsche/Rogers and Beverly Bandits 2012.

LDM: What’s been your most memorable softball experience?
CT: It may be because it’s the most recent, but my most memorable softball experience was winning the PGF Super Select Bandits Power 80 for the second year in a row. I earned the pitching win in both the semifinals and the finals, which made it even more special.

This win also was the fourth consecutive championship in this tournament for Indiana Magic Gold Rogers. What made it even more memorable was that we were playing against my former team, Beverly Bandits 2012- Ault—I had actually been on the other side of that match-up back in the 10U championship game.

LDM: What would you say are your strengths on the field?
CT: My strengths on the field are my leadership, and my ability to stay composed while pitching in clutch situations. I also take pride in commanding the strike zone, using multiple pitch spins and three speed levels to keep hitters off balance.

LDM: Have you set personal goals for yourself for this year?
CT: Yes, I’ve set several personal goals for this year. I want to continue developing my pitching velocity while improving my spin rate and overall movement.

Offensively, I’m focused on consistently hitting the ball hard and putting together productive at-bats.

Statistically, my goal is to finish the season with a .400-plus batting average while holding opponents under a .200 batting average against me. I also want to earn All-Tournament Team honors again at Alliance Nationals and help lead my team to another high finish.

LDM: Do you have any softball superstitions?
CT: I don’t have any specific softball superstitions, because I put my trust in the Lord and in my preparation above all else. That said, I do make it a point to pray before and after games, as well as before each at-bat.

LDM: If you had to describe yourself in one word, what would it be on the field? Off the field?
CT: Energetic. I love to have fun and make the game fun and always show my passion for the game. The same applies off the field.

LDM: What’s been your favorite place you’ve played softball?
CT: My favorite place I have played softball is at the Colorado Sparkler, the competition is elite and it is an amazing experience.

On the field you get to play the best of the best and then look out and see beautiful mountains. As well as it being so fun off the field having fun with my team.

As I was answering this question, we just found out we were elected for the 14U power pool this year!!!!

LDM: What’s the biggest obstacle you’ve had to overcome in life?
CT: The biggest challenge I’ve worked through is my confidence. I’ve learned not to base my value on how I play or what other people think, but instead to find confidence in my faith and in the work I put in every day.

Trusting in the Lord and my preparation helps me stay focused, move past mistakes, and play with true confidence.

LDM: What drives you to play the game of softball?
CT: Softball has always been a passion of mine.  I come from a softball family. My mom, aunts and cousins all play—and several played in college.

I have been blessed with the ability and the structure to put work in everyday, so what drives me is glorifying the Lord through the talents he has gifted me with.

Favorite item(s) in your closet:
Some of my favorite items in my closet are my Jordans, especially my Jordan 4’s.

Taking a nice shower and coming out to a clean room and doing a bible study.

What would you say is your philosophy in life?
Work hard and let God do the rest.

I would most likely go to Dick’s Sporting Goods because it has a bunch of different clothes, shoes, and sports related items.

What’s playing in your headphones right now?
Forrest Frank or Daniel Caesar.

If you won a million dollars and had to spend it all in 24 hours, how would you spend it?
I would take half of the money and donate it to one or multiple different charities. With the other half I would buy a car and then go on a huge shopping spree.

Over the last year or two I have found myself in Jesus and have been working on giving my life to him.

Who inspires you (athletically & non-athletically):
Athletically, Jordy Frahm for being so elite on both sides of the ball and Montana Fouts. They both are amazing pitchers and softball players in general who glorify the Lord. Non-athletically, Bryce Crawford inspires me to spread God’s word and live my life for God’s glory.

Finally, what’s one thing or accomplishment about you that is unusual or unique which few know (until now)?
In 2020, when I was eight-years old, I ran the final mile of a marathon with my dad.
