12U PREMIER: BEVERLY BANDITS PREMIER 2013-MOUSER VS. BEVERLY BANDITS PREMIER 2013-ESTEP
Beverly Bandits Premier 2013-Mouser and Beverly Bandits Premier 2013-Estep both decided not to play the championship game and finished as 12U Premier co-champions on Sunday at Elizabethtown Sports Park.
Bandits-Estep lost its first bracket game and then went all the way through the loser’s bracket to earn a 12U Premier co-championship.
“This tournament didn’t start out the way we intended when bracket play started,” Bandits coach Chris Estep said. “We lost our first game Saturday morning and immediately went to the loser’s bracket. We challenged the girls after that game. We could either quit and go home or stay and fight … they chose to fight as we went on to win seven consecutive elimination games, defeating a very talented Unity team in the last game. Our girls played 10 games and each one of them contributed to this championship. Seeing the girls respond to adversity and buckling down to play some really great softball over the remainder of those games makes me happy for our girls to know that with hard work and determination that anything is possible, including winning the PGF Bandits Power 80.”
