Evannie Flores is a recently committed 2027 right-handed pitcher from Tucson, Arizona and plays for Arizona Rising – Garcia.
Next year, she will be headed to Baton Rouge, La. to play for Head Coach Brittney Williams at Southern University.
Evannie says of Southern University on her trip to the campus: “It just felt right.”
In the 2024/25 season, Evannie threw 138.2 innings and compiled a 20-4 record with a 1.72 ERA and 161 strikeouts.
Evannie is also rostered to play with the TCIC Team USA 18U team this June in Colorado.
In the Fall, she battled through an injury to her ribs and did not play as much, but last month (January 2026), Evannie went 3-0 with 13.1 innings pitched and 21 strikeouts versus just two walks and four earned runs.

In these two tournaments, her Arizona Rising – Garcia team qualified for Alliance Nationals in Indianapolis this summer and finished in the Top 8 at the Arizona Last Blast.
Her club head coach, Kara Brun-Garcia was a shortstop at Arizona State and is in the Arizona Softball Foundation Hall of Fame.
Her daughter. Gabbie Garcia, is a sophomore infielder for the Oklahoma Sooners and coaches the Arizona Rising team alongside her mom, her sister JJ Garcia (a current Grand Canyon University track & field athlete) and her grandfather, Greg Brun.
Interesting fact about Evannie: she is an enrolled member of the Pascua Yaqui tribe, and her heritage played a factor in her choosing the Lady Jaguars—who play in the D1 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC)—as she mentions below among the reasons she chose Southern University…
