Over the summer, we were at The P5 Patriot Games and profiled the Jersey Intensity “Bomb Squad,” the power hitters on Kevin O’Donnell’s team who crushed 14 home runs in just five games.
One of those standout bashers was Ryan McIntosh, the current high school senior from Texas who would end up smashing 12 home runs for the Intensity after hitting 16 at the high school level.
Last weekend, Ryan was one of five recruits who visited the UCLA campus and committed during their official visits.
Ryan recaps how the Bruins first saw the 2027 standout in person:
“Coach Kevin has a great relationship with the UCLA staff,” she says, “and he invited them to our organizational workout in Colorado. That is where they saw me for the first time.”
Here’s a closer look at this prodigious hitter who has also been recognized for her defense and academic accomplishments…

When did you officially commit?
September 6, 2025
How did you commit & where?
In person on my official visit. I had a meeting with Coach I (Kelly Inouye-Perez) and Coach (Lisa) Fernandez along with my family and at that time I knew I wanted to be a Bruin!
What factors were key in your choice?
The whole atmosphere: the players, the coaching staff, and the overall scenery really spoke to me as well as the dynasty that UCLA softball is.
Did you do anything to celebrate the big decision?
Yes, since the other four people on my visit committed with me, we all slept over at our host’s apartment, made cookies, and played Just Dance.
Did you take other official visits?
No. UCLA was my first visit, and it was the place for me!
What did your future coaches say they liked about your game enough to offer you?
They said they loved my power offensively. Specifically, they liked that I hit for power and that it looked smooth and easy.
What are you looking forward to doing once you get to Westwood?
My plan is to get bigger, faster, and stronger after I arrive on campus. UCLA has all the tools to make me a better player, and I embrace the opportunity to be an impact player.
What, in your opinion, are 1-3 of your biggest softball accomplishments?
1. Leading Jordan High School to the playoffs for the first time in school history; 2. Helping younger players that are just starting to play the game develop skills to enhance their love of the game; 3. Being a great teammate on every team that I have played.
