You rarely find a softball event that covers youth, club, college and even pro play all in one weekend, but that’s exactly what The Michele Smith Classic presented by Fastpitch United and powered by Top Gun Events will include this Fall.

Taking place Friday, Oct. 10 through Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, in Newberry, Fla., the Michele Smith Classic features a competitive club tournament for teams 18U, 16U, 14U, 12U and even 10U… but note that spots are filling up fast!

Not only will there be premier travel ball competition with top teams from across the nation attending—including ones from California, Texas and, of course, Florida—but the other softball-related activities tied into the Michele Smith Classic are worth the price of admission alone!

These include a:

• Home Run Derby powered by Mizuno,
• Skills Camp for club-aged attendees,
• Juco Showcase for junior college players looking to play at a four-year program,
• Pro & college players meet-and-greet,
• Showcase game featuring the Florida Gators vs. The Florida VIBE pro team.

The travel ball tourney itself includes a 5-game guarantee with four pool play games followed by a single elimination bracket.

The Michele Smith Classic will be held at Champions Park in Newberry, Fla.—one of the premier softball tournament complexes in the country with 16 state-of-the-art fields —and is located close to Gainesville in North Central Florida.

And, of course, there will be the opportunity to meet and hear from Michele Smith, the former college All-American at Oklahoma State, two-time Olympian Gold medalist and ESPN’s lead college softball color analyst for the last 27 years!
