The 2027 Line Drive Hot 100 will be updated next month and we’re pushing back a week both the nomination deadline and the launch of the rankings.

The nominations are being accepted from NOW thru Monday, August 11, 2025 and then the rankings will start Monday, August 18.

Why the change?

With Alliance and PGF Nationals underway, we want to give coaches more time to send in nominations so they’re not distracted and can focus on their teams during these two huge events.

Here’s the updated schedule:

Each weekday for a two-week period, we will honor deserving prospects via our countdown of 10 spots each day following this schedule:

WEEK 1:

• #’s 100-91 (Mon., Aug. 18, 2025)
• #’s 90-81 (Tue., Aug. 19, 2025)
• #’s 80-71 (Wed., Aug. 20, 2025)
• #’s 70-61 (Thu., Aug. 21, 2025)
• #’s 60-51 (Fri. Aug. 22, 2025)

WEEK 2:

• #’s 50-41 (Mon., Aug. 25, 2025)
• #’s 40-31 (Tue., Aug. 26, 2025)
• #’s 30-21 (Wed., Aug. 27, 2025)
• #’s 20-11 (Thu., Aug. 28, 2025)
• #’s 10-1 (Fri. Aug. 29, 2025)

Following the Class of 2027 rankings, the Class of 2026 will be next… here’s the schedule for the upcoming senior class: 

• 2026 Line Drive HOT 100:
  • nominations officially open on Monday, Sept. 1 (Labor Day) & close Monday Sept. 22.
  • ranking postings run from from Sept. 29 to Oct. 10, 2025

The Line Drive Hot 100 is led by Line Drive Softball Executive Editor Brentt Eads, who began the softball player and team rankings format 15 years ago and in that time has done over 40 grad class rankings.

Each class is updated several times leading up to the players’ high school graduation and transition into college.
