Graduation Year: 2030

Height: 5-8.5

Position/s: LHP/1B

Nickname: Since I was little, my dad started off by calling me “Booger,” but then he shortened it to “Boog” and it’s stuck since then (and) now everyone calls me “Boog.” So embarrassed to say, but I’m going to be honest, I always had boogers in my nose and my dad just said it one day and was like your my little “Booger.” Little did I know, I thought it was because of my dance moves and called myself “Boogie” in the hoodie.

I wanted to add a piece for a great person, who has been with me since the beginning, not only does he believes in me, but I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for him, my pitching coach Jarred Lewis. He keeps me in shape and pushes me to a new level every time (and) doesn’t cut me short.

Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them? The Bombers organization is a big part of my softball journey. They hold you (to) a different standard and make you thrive to be better. My team is different. We are coached by three coaches — Thad (Bryant), Jeromy (Gutierrez) and RJ (Bernal), who all have a different view of the game. My teammates all have different personalities that just work together to be the best we can. When you see us at a tournament, you know who we are and represent the Bombers in class and game. My parents heard about (the) Bombers through my pitching coach, Jarred Lewis, and they did their research and knew it would be a good place to be. Later on, I was approached by my coach Thad (Bryant) three years ago to come try out for his Bomber 12U team and here we are three years (and) counting.

Tell us about your experience at Alliance Nationals? My experience at Alliance Nationals was good and a different level of play. The tournament overall had teams that pushed us to be better and made sure that whatever we did, it was going to make us or break us. It was a fight to the end. We knew that we could not give up and had to dig deep and overcome obstacles to win.

Can you talk about helping your team win the recent 12U TFL Summer Championship? I helped my team by staying positive and trying my best. I knew if I did my job by hitting my spots and throw different pitches, they would back me up 100 percent. Even on offense, I knew we would all come together with our sticks to put some runs on the board.

What makes players from the state of Texas special? So this question is different for me because I am actually from New Mexico, and we have a lot of unrecognized ballers. Hopefully, in the future that will change.

What was your biggest focus in the offseason? My biggest focus was staying in shape and working harder and pushing myself to get better every day.

Which player/team has been your toughest opponent and why? My biggest, toughest opponent team would be Blaze Academy because they are very talkative and they’re good on defense and offense and you really can’t be slacking when you play against them. You have to be on your A game.

What have you faced/overcome in life that has made you the person you are today? Remembering that mistakes don’t break you, only makes you stronger smarter and more prepared for the next situation.

Do you have any family members/siblings that are athletes? Samari Jackson, sister, softball; Ariana Garcia, cousin, softball; Baylee Garcia, cousin, softball; Nickolas Hernandez, cousin, football; and Zayden Olivas, cousin, baseball.

What are you looking for in a future college? A college were softball is recognized and also a place that can make me better for the future.

What college camps have you attended and are you planning to attend and why? USW camp in my hometown. I will also be attending a UT camp and TT camp in the future.

What areas are you interested in future occupations and why? I’m not too sure, but I know it will be something in the medical field. I’m a very caring person and I know that I can make a difference.

What’s your favorite subject to study in school and why? History and Math. History because I like to learn about the world back then and how far we have come and math keeps me busy, always thinking of ways to use numbers to solve problems.

Who is your sports hero and why? My sports hero is (Texas pitcher) Citlaly Guitierrez from UT! She is a phenomenal athlete and also a pitcher.

What’s the best hype song and why? I like all rap music because of the beats and just the way it gets me right before a game.

What’s your favorite TV show to binge and why? “All American” because it is entertaining, (an) athletic show and I like all the drama.

What’s your favorite movie and why? My favorite movie is “Alvin and the Chipmunks” because they’re funny and show all their dance moves.

Do you have a secret talent/skill? Yes, I can do a walking handstand!
