The stars were out at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, Okla. Friday night with the USA Softball All-Star Showcase seeing Team USA defeat the All-Stars in both games, 5-4 and 10-9, respectively, to tune-up for the World Games in August.

Team USA was represented by the 18 players that were named to the roster for the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China in August with the All-Stars featuring the remaining U.S. Women’s National Team (WNT) pool, all coming together in Oklahoma for the WNT training camp (see all the players on both teams on the list below).

In the opening of the pair of games, the All-Stars took a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning after Jocelyn Alo hit a home run with Alo and Aubrey Leach scoring on the play.

It would be all Team USA in the bottom of the sixth as Bubba Nickles grounded the ball to center field, bringing Jayda Coleman up to bat, crushing a home run to bring them both home for a 3-2 advantage.

After Amanda Lorenz was walked, the bases were loaded in the bottom of the sixth with Kenzie Hansen stepping up to the plate. She hit a single to right field, allowing Hannah Flippen and Dejah Mulipola to score and give them the 5-2 lead.

Leach hit her first home run of the day in the top of the seventh, deep to center field, bringing in herself and Erin Coffel in to cut the lead to one, but Lexi Kilfoyl finished the inning out on the mound with the final strikeout to secure the win.

Team USA started the scoring in the first inning of the game’s nightcap with Nickles singling to center field, allowing Coleman to score and give Team USA a 1-0 lead. The scoring continued in the top of the second with Flippen and Sahvannah Jaquish getting back-to-back doubles, sending Flippen in for a score and a 2-0 lead.

The lead wouldn’t last though with the All-Stars exploding for five runs in the bottom of the third. Cori McMillan scored late in the second inning to make it 2-1, but a double from Kayla Kowalik on a fly ball would get Bri Ellis to home to tie things up, followed by a grand slam by Leach to give the All-Stars a quick 6-2 lead.

The teams were scoreless in the fourth inning with Team USA getting back on the board in the top of the fifth with a single from Skylar Wallace allowing Coleman and Amanda Lorenz to score.

The scoring streak continued into the top of the fifth with Team USA driving home five runs to take 9-6 lead, highlighted by a Nickles home run that brought in two runs.

After taking a 10-7 lead in the top of the seventh, Team USA was challenged by the All-Stars late in the bottom of the final inning when Reese Atwood slammed the ball out of the park for two runs, making it a one-run game with one out on the board.

Pitcher Kelly Maxwell, though, kept her composure securing back-to-back strikeouts for the second win of the day for Team USA.

The U.S. Women’s National Team is set to compete at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China, Aug. 13-17.

Alongside the U.S. Women’s National Team (WNT) at the 2025 World Games will be world-ranked No. 2 Japan, No. 3 Puerto Rico, No. 4 Chinese Taipei, No. 5 Netherlands and No. 6 Canada, in addition to host No. 12 China.

A wild card has also been awarded to No. 10 Australia as the highest-ranking team in Oceania.
