International News: Team USA Opens U-15 World Cup with 16-1 Run-Rule Victory Over Chinese Taipei (June 27, 2025)

MILAN, Italy — The U.S. U-15 Women’s National Team (WNT) kicked off the 2025 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-15 Women’s Softball World Cu p in commanding fashion, posting a 16-1 run-rule win over Chinese Taipei in three innings.

With a relentless offensive performance and a sharp defensive effort, Team USA sealed the three-inning run-rule behind perfect multi-hit outings at the plate from Ashleigh Bronowicz (2-for-2) and Khloe Williams (2-for-2).  

Chinese Taipei struck first with one unearned run in the top of the first.

Team USA answered back with five runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by a three-run blast from Williams and a single from Eicholtz (2-RBI).

The Eagles kept the bats hot in the second inning, collecting 11 runs that saw contributions from nearly every spot in the lineup. Williams (6), Ashleigh Eicholtz (2), Allison Eichholz (2), Melody Soto (2), and Liana Saenz (2), each tallied multiple RBIs on the day.

In the circle, Braelyn Johnson earned the win, with just one unearned run – the only blemish on an otherwise clean performance.

With a total of 16 runs on 13 hits and a powerful 11-run second inning, the Eagles made a compelling statement to open their World Cup run.

Team USA returns to action tomorrow, June 28, with:

a matchup against Canada at 7:30 p.m. CEST / 12:30 p.m. CT and
back-to-back matchups on Sunday, June 29, against Czechia (4 p.m. CEST / 9 a.m. CT) and Singapore (7 p.m. CEST / 12 p.m. CT).
