Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them? I’ve known my coaches and most of my teammates for a very long time. I had played with them for another organization a couple (of) years ago. My coaches saw a very good opportunity and I trusted them and that’s how we ended up in the Unity organization with a great director in Josh Johnson.

Tell us about your experience at PGF/Alliance Nationals? PGF/Alliance host great tournaments with the most talented teams all over the country and it’s very well organized. It’s amazing to travel places to play the sport I love. Having the Alliance Nationals at Grand Park in Indiana is also very refreshing to just play at home.

Can you talk about helping your team win the recent 16U Top Gun Invitational? We all played a role in winning this tournament. Each and every one of my teammates impacted these games and we play for one another and our coaches.

What makes players from the state of Indiana special? I feel like Indiana is one of those states where everybody knows everybody. The friendly competition and wanting to be better than each other makes players from Indiana special.

What was your biggest focus in the offseason? It was to get stronger and focus on the mental part of softball.

Which player/team has been your toughest opponent and why? I would definitely say another team in our organization, Unity-Amsler. They have definitely been our toughest opponent. Every time we play them it’s back and forth and they are a very talented team as well.

What have you faced/overcome in life that has made you the person you are today? I went from going to a very small school with people I’ve known my whole life and then transferring to a big school. It was hard at first to adjust to the environment and just meeting new people. I think change is good for everyone and is something we all need to go through at some point.

Do you have any family members/siblings that are athletes? My three older brothers — Carson Ison, Colton Ison and Carter Cummings — all play football and all are very talented. Two of them are getting recruited and looked at right now.

What are you looking for in a future college? I am looking for somewhere that seems to be a very good fit for me, has a good program for my major and just somewhere I can enjoy playing softball that has a family feel to it.

What college camps have you attended and are you planning to attend and why? I’ve attended FGCU, Purdue (and) Kentucky. I plan on attending those again and I also plan on attending FAU, Coastal Carolina (and) Louisville because I’m really interested in their programs.

What areas are you interested in future occupations and why? I’m interested in studying criminal justice and criminology to be a detective. It’s just something I’ve always wanted to do and have been interested in.

What’s your favorite subject to study in school and why? I would say English. It’s definitely what I’m best at and I have an amazing teacher.

Who is your sports hero and why? Kaley Mudge (a former two-time All-ACC player Florida State) because I look up to her and I feel like I relate to her.

What’s your favorite book to read and why? “Never Finished” by David Goggins because it’s very motivational and teaches you how to deal with the mental aspect of sports.

What’s the best hype song and why? “Trap Queen” by Fetty Wap because it has a very good vibe and beat to it and is a very upbeat song.

What’s your favorite TV show to binge and why? I would say “Outer Banks” probably because I’ll randomly feel the need to rewatch it.

What’s your favorite movie and why? Definitely, “The Notebook.” You can watch it over and over again and never get tired of it.

Do you have a secret talent/skill? I’m really good at riddles.
