Florida State-bound RHP Bella Dimitrijevic and Southern Illinois-bound RHP Hailey Lucas combined on a three-hitter as #20 Illinois Chill Gold beat #31 Fury Platinum X-Higdon, 3-1, in the 18U championship game on Sunday at Shawnee Mission.

Northwestern-bound Kate Renschen delivered a two-run single in the top of the 6th inning to break a 1-1 tie and seize the advantage over Fury Platinum X-Higdon.

Illinois Chill Gold defeated Iowa Premier-Yegge/Anthony, 2-1, Indiana Gators Premier-Phillips, 5-0, #46 Louisville Lady Sluggers-Huecker, 4-3, and Fury Platinum X-Higdon, 3-1, in bracket games.

Fury Platinum X-Higdon defeated Unity-Slezak, 3-0, #16 Top Gun National, 4-2, #3 Impact Gold-Jackson, 4-2, and lost to Illinois Chill Gold, 3-1, in bracket games.

Kentucky-committed 2026 OF/UT Brynley Erb drove in three runs and Tennessee-committed 2026 LHP Maggie Krause had five strikeouts in six innings to lead #22 Louisville Lady Sluggers-Huecker/Norwood to a 4-1 victory over #25 Impact Gold-Jazz in the 16U championship game on Sunday at Shawnee Mission.

Kentucky-committed 2026 SS/UT Annie Newman (.522 AVG, 1 HR, 5 RBIs), Iowa-committed 2026 2B/UT Molly Hancock (.520 AVG, 5 doubles, .613 OBP), Erb (.440 AVG, 3 HRs, 12 RBIs) and 2027 C/OF Adelle Metz (.381 AVG, 2 HRs, 9 RBIs) were leaders for the Louisville Lady Sluggers.

“This is a great first tournament to come out and play great competition and see where we are going into the summer,” Louisville Lady Sluggers coach Scott Norwood said. “Getting the win is definitely a great start to our season.”
