I started the day by waking up around 8 a.m., getting ready and heading to breakfast. With a big game ahead, it was all about preparation — both mentally and physically. Of course, that meant getting my hair game-day ready before we loaded the bus at 12:15 p.m. to head to the field for our matchup against Canada.

Ansley Johnson got the start in the circle and dominated, pitching two innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three. Meanwhile, our offense came out absolutely on fire, putting up eight runs in the first inning alone. As a team, we hit an insane .727 with 16 hits and a solo home run by Michaela Landers and a walk-off grand slam from Khloe Williams. I told Khole before her at-bat that if bases were loaded, she was going to hit a grand slam! We ultimately run-ruled Canada in just three innings.

After the game, we took team beach photos to capture the moment, then headed back to the Italian restaurant for another great meal. Once we got back to the hotel, it was time to stretch and focus on recovery — because tomorrow we face Mexico at 2:30 p.m. Central Time for the Gold Medal game. Be sure to tune in. One more to go! (The) Eagles are soaring!
