College Honors: NFCA D1 & D2 Pitchers & Players of the Week (March 12, 2025)

Division I: Atwood, Harrison earn Louisville Slugger/Wilson DI weekly honors

Texas’ Reese Atwood and Rutgers’ Ella Harrison captured the Division I Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors for contests played March 3-9.

Player of the Week – Reese Atwood (Texas)

Over four games, Atwood hit .636 (7-for-11) with two doubles, a triple, three home runs, seven RBI and seven runs scored. She drew two walks, slugged 1.818 and reached base at a .692 on-base percentage. Atwood homered in all three contests at the Ohio State Tournament with three multi-hit, RBI and runs scored contests. She drove in three runs and was a single short of the cycle versus Kent State, while scoring three times against Oakland.

Pitcher of the Week – Ella Harrison (Rutgers)

Harrison twirled three shutouts, including her first career no-hitter against North Dakota, and is currently on a streak of 33 innings without allowing an earned run. She finished the week 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA, 34 strikeouts, surrendering six hits and walking seven. Against UND, Harrison fanned a career-high 16 batters, the most by a RU pitcher since 2022. She struck out 10 and walked one in a five-inning two-hit shutout at Georgia State and added eight more punchouts (4 hits, zero walks) versus West Georgia.

Division II: Miller, Rogers capture 2025 Louisville Slugger/Wilson DII weekly honors

Frostburg State’s Arden Miller and Southern Arkansas’ Brinson Rogers captured the Division II Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors for contests played March 3-9. It marks the second accolade for Rogers in 2025.

Player of the Week – Arden Miller (Frostburg State)

Miller hit .667 (8-for-12) over four games last week with two doubles, four home runs, 11 RBI, seven runs scored and two stolen bases. She went 7-for-7 in a doubleheader sweep of Bowie State in FSU’s home opener. Miller launched three of her long balls, including a grand slam, and generated 10 RBI against the Bulldogs.

Pitcher of the Week – Brinson Rogers (Southern Arkansas)

Rogers went 3-0 in three starts, recording a pair of shutouts, including a no-hitter versus Lane College on March 5. Over 15 innings of shutout ball, she struck out 32 batters, surrendered three hits and walked just one batter. Rogers fanned 12 of 16 batters she faced in the five-inning no-hitter. The senior hurler also notched a one-hit shutout of Ouachita Baptist with nine strikeouts in a five-inning victory. She closed out the week with five more scoreless innings against OBU, striking out 11 and allowing two hits. Rogers currently leads NCAA Division II with 107 strikeouts.
