*** You can’t get better than perfect.
That’s been the case fort Anna Hinde, one of the top seniors in the country, who went 6-for-6 for her Charlotte Christian School in Charlotte, N.C. last week and is now 9-for-9 on the season.
Last week, Anna—who is headed to Florida State—had two walks in addition to her six hits which included a home run and a pair of doubles. The standout catcher/shortstop also went 3-for-3 in steals and was flawless on the field, as she had 35 total chances and made no errors.
Her other eye-opening stats last week included a 2.833 OPS and a 1.833 slugging percentage with five RBIs and eight runs scored.
The perfection extends to her start to the high school season as Anna went 9-for-9 with five walks in her first four games with two homers, a triple and nine RBIs. She went 6-for-6 in steals and has made no errors in 59 total chances.
We asked the softball standout what’s helped her to such a great start.
“My mindset going into this final school season is to not be so wrapped up in outcomes that I miss the immediate opportunities,” she told Line Drive Softball earlier today.
“I love this team and I love this game. There are a lot of uncontrollables in our sport so focusing my energy on what I can control, leaning into my training and being grateful for every opportunity I’m given to help my team is the foundation of my approach to my senior year with CCS. Go Knights!”
For her prep career heading into her senior campaign, Anna had a .570 batting average with a .675 on-base percentage and has totaled 27 home runs and 126 RBIs… just in three seasons. And she’s helped her teams win two North Carolina state championships and one state runner-up finish.
Anna’s successes aren’t just limited to the softball fields, however; she carries a 4.36 GPA and is an AP Scholar while she is also active in her community doing things such as being a volunteer at Kings Kitchen, a homeless shelter, along with Beds for Kids and Loaves & Fishes.
Nobody’s perfect… but Anna has been about as close as you can get to start the 2025 softball season.

*** Neabella Perez, a junior infielder and utility player for Whittier Christian (Whittier, Calif.) went 5-for-9 with two home runs and nine RBIs and on defense robbed two opponent would-be home runs.
She helped her team win the Silver championship at the Dave Kops Tournament of Champions as she had a three-run home run and drove in four RBIs in just one at-bat (she did a sac fly, too),
Committed to Lipscomb University, the standout athlete is a three-year varsity softball player and has competed on the varsity for two years in hoops.
*** Gianna Messick is a junior two-way standout for Glendora (Calif.) High in the competitive Palomares League where “she has been a dominant force on the mound and a clutch performer at the plate,” according to Assistant Coach Kristen Torres.
The pitcher helped Glendora High start 2-0 in league play as she delivered back-to-back shutout performances, including an incredible 11- inning duel against defending league champions, Ayala, where Gianna held their opponent scoreless before Glendora secured a 3-0 victory.
She followed that up with another shutout against Diamond Bar “proving her consistency and dominance” according to her coach.
On the week, she tossed 18 innings with a 0.00 ERA and a 0.556 WHIP while giving up nine hits, one walks and striking out 10 of the 64 batters she faced.
Gianna also came through offensively when it mattered most, delivering a key hit in Glendora’s 11th-inning rally against Ayala and another crucial hit in their five-run inning against Diamond Bar.
*** Jordyn Lish, a senior lefty pitcher for Fred C Beyer (Modesto, Calif.) High who has signed with Utah State, pitched three games last week and, in 17 innings thrown, she had just one earned run and no walks while striking out 25.
For the season, Jordyn has thrown 43 innings pitched and allowed opponents to produce just a .197 on-base percentage against her and a 1.30 ERA. Overall, she has struck out 57 hitters and allowed just eight earned runs and four walks.
In summer club player, Jordyn competes for the Grapettes 18U team coached by Bryan Merrida, one of the top travel ball teams on the West Coast.

Pitching-wise, she tossed 18.1 innings and had 38 strikeouts—an average of 2.1 per inning. The Golden State talent only gave up two earned runs for the week and now has 51 Ks in 29 innings pitched.
The 2028 talent also had five singles to help her cause on offense and has a .348 batting average for the season and drove in eight runs.
Playing for the Sorcerer Gold 14U team last year, Anya was named to the PGF Ultimate 2024 All-Tournament Team.
*** Rhiannon Rees, a lefty junior who pitches also plays first base and in the outfield, got it done in a big way on both sides for her Grinnell (Iowa) High team.

She’s been a 1st Team All-State honoree and a 2nd Team All-Stater while twice being named All-Conference.
Rhiannon holds her school’s career home run and RBI records as well as the single season RBI record. She’s currently uncommitted but will have programs pursuing her as her junior year unfolds in high school and in travel ball.
*** Gianni Torres, a 2026 grad who’s a catcher/third baseman for her Fort Meyers (Fla.) High team was on fire at the plate last week as she batted .714 with a .818 on-base percentage, a 2.104 OPS and had a home run, double, three seals.
Defensively, the standout junior had 11 total chances and was flawless, making no errors.
For the season, Gianni is hitting a torrid .515 with a .581 on-base percentage and has driven in 11 runs while scoring eight herself. She also has a 1.000 fielding percentage in 35 chances.
The Sunshine State talent also plays for Team Cuba in the Triple Crown Sports International Challenge.
*** Caylee “KK” Barbe had another great week for her Trinity Catholic (Ocala, Fla.) team as the sophomore was stellar once again on the mound.
In 18 innings, KK had 31 strikeouts versus just two walks and produced a 0.00 ERA as she got three wins against higher-ranked teams. Her WHIP was .500 and opposing hitters batted just .113 against her.
