THE Spring Games were impacted today by heavy rain in the morning, but didn't mean the games were cancelled... in fact, it was quite the opposite.

THE Spring Games: Weather Delayed Today's Start... So How Did Players & Family Deal With It? (March 10, 2025)

THE Spring Games — featuring over 300 D1, D2, D3 and NAIA softball teams competing in Central Florida — averaged 2.5 rain days per year… not bad for the nearly month-long event.

Unfortunately, today was one of this year’s weather-impacted days, but through the coordination of THE Spring Games CEO Alison Strange and her staff, the morning games – which were affected by as much as a half inch of rain in the Orlando area – were able to be rescheduled to other times, sometimes even other complexes, to get in the bulk of the contests.

So what did the players, their parents and coaches do during this rain delay which pushed many games back to 3 pm and later?

We caught up with players and a parent to ask them: “How did you deal with the half-day of down time?”
