College News: Florida’s Reagan Walsh & Oklahoma State’s Ruby Meylan Earn Louisville Slugger/Wilson DI Weekly Honors (March 5, 2025)

Florida’s Reagan Walsh and Oklahoma State’s Ruby Meylan captured the Division I Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors for contests played Feb. 24-March 2.

Walsh hit .688 with 11 base hits, two doubles, four home runs and 11 RBI for the No. 3 Gators. She slugged 1.625, drew one walk and recorded an .667 on-base percentage. Against Western Michigan, Walsh left the yard twice and matched a season-best with five RBI. She clubbed her second grand slam of the season in that contest. The senior infielder registered five multi-hit contests and also homered versus Troy and Florida A&M.

Meylan was 6-0 last week with a 0.00 ERA and 30 strikeouts over 23.1 shutout innings. She twirled a two-hit shutout with 10 punchouts against then-No. 18 Nebraska and also went 4.2 scoreless innings with nine strikeouts in her other start versus Tulsa. Meylan added four victories in relief, including a five-inning performance out of the bullpen at Central Arkansas. She blanked the Sugar Bears on one hit with one walk and one strikeout in a comeback win. In her other three relief appearances, the junior hurler surrendered just one hit and struck out 11 over 6.2 shutout innings.

The awards are voted on by the NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll Committee, which features one member head coach from each of the NCAA’s 31 conferences.
