USA Softball has released the final list of athletes invited to attend the 2024 High Performance Program (HPP) National Selection Event, presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods, slated for December 12-15 in Vero Beach, Fla.
Set to take place at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex, 432 registered athletes will make their way to the Treasure Coast to vie for the opportunity to represent the Red, White and Blue on a Women’s National Team roster.

The selected athletes will participate in a series of on-field evaluations and scrimmages with hopes of being identified as a 2024 Top Performer.
From the Top Performers and additional athletes identified by the Junior Women’s National Selection Committee (JWNTSC), USA Softball will select rosters to represent the U.S. at upcoming international events — including the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-15 Americas Qualifier and World Cup, along with the WBSC U-18 World Cup Finals.
“We are thrilled to be hosting the event again this year at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Florida,” said Chief Sport Development Officer, Chris Sebren.
“The level of talent attending this year’s event will pose a challenge for the committee when it comes to selecting the final rosters of just 16 athletes,” he added.
“Over the past two years, the teams we’ve assembled from this program have dominated on the diamond, and we expect nothing less from the group of athletes attending this year for a chance to represent USA Softball next year as we take on the world at both the U-15 and U-18 events.”
Having advanced through various HPP local Identifiers throughout the last year, the selected athletes have been invited to Vero Beach for an action-packed three-day schedule – including seminars hosted by former and current Women’s National Team (WNT) members.
WNT athletes in attendance include Ally Carda, Taylor Edwards, Sam Fischer, Amanda Lorenz, Destinee Martinez, Michelle Moultrie, Gwen Svekis, Lacey Waldrip and Jessie Warren, while Blaine Milheim and Nick Mullins represent the Men’s National Team (MNT).
The 2024 National Selection Event will feature over 400 athletes from various USA Softball regions across 41 states.
Region 5 has the highest number of invitees with 103 athletes, followed by Region 10 with 84 athletes and Region 3 with 64 athletes.
Among the age groups, the U-14 category has the most participants with 121 athletes, followed by 86 athletes in the U-15 category and 87 athletes in the U-16 category.
Additionally, the U-13 age division features 76 athletes and the U-17 group includes 61 athletes.
Dubbed the Pipeline to the Women’s National Team Program, the HPP was created in 2020 to identify a pool of athletes to train, compete and represent USA Softball in domestic and international competition.
The program focuses on providing an equal opportunity for players to showcase their talent while growing the game of softball in the United States.
The 2024 National Selection Event has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the presenting sponsor, Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Additionally, USA Softball would like to acknowledge and thank Treasure Coast Sports Commission, Major League Baseball (MLB) and Oakley for sponsoring this event.
