Event News: National Power Pool Games Heat Up at Triple Crown Colorado 4th of July (July 3, 2024)

Triple Crown Colorado 4th of July (Fireworks/Sparkler) is being held all week in the Denver Metro Area (All rankings Line Drive Hot 50 Club National Rankings):

In 18U:

#5 Tennessee Mojo-Ramsey/Fisher rallied from a three-run deficit twice and picked up a 10-9 win in two international tiebreakers over Rock Gold-Manetta, the defending PGF national champion.

Florida State-bound OF/SS/3B Addie DeLong went 3 for 5, 2026 SS Luna Taboas went 3 for 4, East Carolina-bound C/OF Jenna Kroll went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs, uncommitted 2025 C/1B Danika Spinogatti hit a three-run homer in ITB and Oklahoma-bound LHP Audrey Lowry and Oklahoma-committed 2025 P Berkley Zache combined for 14 Ks in 10 innings to lead Mojo-Ramsey/Fisher.

Clemson-bound 1B/OF Sam Minish hit two homers and drove in four runs to propel Mojo-Ramsey/Fisher past #11 Firecrackers Select-Rico/Brashear, 7-3, in the second game. Stanford-committed 2025 OF/MIF Adriana Callahan and Zache also homered.

“To be completely honest, I didn’t have a great first game at the plate,” Minish said. “I was going into my second game with not a ton of confidence, but I told myself that it was a new game. My approach the second game was to simply see ball, hit ball. I got into the box and tried to get comfortable.

“My first at-bat, I hit a home run, so I was looking for an offspeed my second at-bat because I was sure they wanted to try and catch me off balance. They came at me with an offspeed, which I was looking for, so I tried my best to sit back and drive the ball. I was very happy to be able to pull through for my coaches and teammates. When my confidence is a little low in the box, I try to have the most simple approach, so that’s exactly what I tried to do my second game.” …

#31 Tampa Mustangs-Rene had a huge day with a 12-2 upset over #3 Athletics Mercado-Smith, which won the 18U Patriot Games title last weekend, and rallied to beat #37 EC Bullets Gold-Schnute, 13-10.

Florida Atlantic-bound IF/OF Destiny Johns hit two home runs and drove in four runs to lead the Mustangs over the Athletics and Tampa-bound OF Abbey Johns hit two home runs and drove in four runs to lead the Mustangs’ comeback against the Bullets. …

#30 Louisville Lady Sluggers-Huecker/Norwood defeated #21 Warrior Academy-McDonald, 11-3, and #3 Hotshots Naudin National-Villegas, 3-0. 2026 OF/UT Brynley Erb lead the team in batting average on the day at .833, followed by 2026 RHP/1B Layla Ogden at .667 with three home runs and six RBIs. 2026 LHP/1B Maggie Krause had a 7-inning shutout against the Hotshots, allowing seven hits with nine Ks. …

#18 Mojo-Lewis defeated Oklahoma Athletics-Madden/Davis, 6-2, #6 Lady Magic-Walling, 8-4, and upset #1 Arizona Storm National-Appel, 10-2. 2026 C/IF Avary Stockwell, 2026 RHP/IF Jordan Young, 2026 3B/UT Katie Norgard and 2026 MIF Kensi Arringdale all homered to help Mojo outslug the Storm. …

#4 Hotshots National 09-Nelson knocked off Bombers Gold National-Maloney, 7-0, and #3 Impact Gold 2K9 National, 6-5. 2027 OF/C JLee Van Driel went 1 for 3 with a double, a run and two RBIs and 2027 LHP Morgan Maxwell struck out seven in 5.0 innings to record the shutout against the Bombers. The Hotshots had a four-run lead and held off IG 2K9 in the second game. …

2028 RHP Madden Lutze hit a three-run homer and pitched 2.2 innings of scoreless relief with two strikeouts to help Epic National 09-Smith knock off #39 LLG Futures VA-Wools. …

#38 Warrior Academy-McDonald upset #5 Virginia Unity-Amsler/Johnson, 10-7. 2028 3B/C/UT AJ Tatum drove in three runs and 2027 MIF Gia Ryan homered and drove in two runs to lead the Warriors. …
