Coming Very Soon… the Senior & Futures PGF All-American Teams Reveal Show!

This is Brentt Eads of Line Drive Softball

I had the great privilege to once again be part of the outstanding on-air team consisting of broadcaster supreme Daron Sutton and former Olympic Gold Medalist and UCLA All-American Amanda Freed Katchka which got together yesterday (Tuesday, May 28) to tape the 2024 PGF All-American Teams reveal show.

The show will be released within the next week—it’s currently in post-production—and will announce:

  • The 40 high school senior grads, the 2024’s, who are chosen to compete for the East and West teams in the PGF All-American Game.
  • The Futures game rosters consisting of top 2026’s who will play against elite 2025’s.

It was a quick trip for me:

  • I flew into Orange County’s John Wayne Airport Monday night at 10 pm,
  • did the taping yesterday from 10:30 am to noon in Huntington Beach,
  • went right back to the airport at 1 pm to catch my 4 pm flight back to the Boise, Idaho area where I live,
  • got home at midnight last night/this morning.

Sidenote: I was VERY lucky my Tuesday flights were on time; the terrible weather across the nation caused significant delays and every flight I saw on the boards were delayed other than mine. And there were lines 100-plus deep of distressed travelers having to rebook flights… not fun.

Back to the taping: kudos to Daron and Amanda who were once again fantastic—full of energy and you will definitely want to catch the show to get their insights (and hopefully mine added a little bit to the big picture as well!).

The Line Drive Softball website will have a complete story when the show is completed and released very soon including the complete list of all those players we’ll see on July 27th in the two All-American contests.

This is the 9th year of the PGF All-Star Games that go back to their beginnings in 2016.

Here’s the nearly hour-long show done last year announcing the 2023 All-American rosters:

I can’t go into specifics yet… but let me just say all the teams are loaded, the pitching is deep and the hitting and speed on all four squads will make for two fun games. And there are DOZENS of participants who were ranked by me in the Top 100 of each class.

If you are a fastpitch softball fan—and you know you are—the chances are strong you’ve heard of these half dozen current and past big-time Power 5 standouts!M
