Event News: Epic National-Smith Wins Big at HuSTLe City Invitational (May 28, 2024)

The USA Softball HuSTLe City Invitational was held May 24-27 in Chesterfield, MO (Line Drive Hot 50 18U Club National Rankings):

In 18U:

Epic National-Smith knocked off two Line Drive Hot 50 teams en route to winning the 18U title at the USA Softball HuSTLe City Invitational this past weekend in Chesterfield, MO.

#26 Epic National-Smith knocked off #25 Athletics National 2024-Madden/Clemmer, 5-2, in the quarterfinals and #24 Iowa Premier National-Dickel, 5-3, in the championship game on Monday at Chesterfield Valley Athletics Complex.

Uncommitted 2026 RHP D’Naya Green spun it well, beating Athletics National 2024-Madden/Clemmer twice and she did early damage against Iowa Premier National-Dickel in the final. She finished the tournament with a 2.40 ERA. Tulsa-committed 2025 RHP Makenzie Freeman had great outings and closed out the Iowa Premier National-Dickel win in the championship game.

Texas-committed 2025 IF/UT Jaycie Nichols (.650 AVG), Abilene Christian-bound 2B Ari Maxwell (.615 AVG), McNeese State-bound UT/LHP Gwinn Hall (.600 AVG), North Texas-committed 2025 MIF/UT Reagan Henderson (.500 AVG), Central Arkansas-bound C/3B Aeryn Shuman (.455 AVG), North Texas-bound OF/UT Taylor Platt (.450 AVG) and uncommitted 2026 UT/RHP Jess Shuman (.438 AVG) were some of Epic National-Smith’s offensive leaders for the tournament.
