Athletics Mercado 09-Tidd is one of the top 14U team’s in the country, but they moved up to 18U and won the Triple Crown Memorial Day Classic this past weekend in Orange County, CA.

Athletics Mercado-Tidd defeated Cruisers Fastpitch VC, 11-2, in the 18U championship game on Monday at Deanna Manning Stadium in Irvine, CA.

2027 MIF Jenna Calderon was the tournament MVP, going 2 for 3 with a triple, a run and three RBIs in the championship game. 2027 MIF Hayden Huerta went 3 for 3 with two runs and two RBIs, 2028 OF Teulia Jaelynn Eteaki went 2 for 3 with a run and two RBIs, 2027 3B/2B/OF Marcai Johnson went 2 for 3 with two runs and an RBI and 2027 C/1B Sullivan McLaughlin went 2 for 2 with a run and an RBI for the Athletics in the final.

Athletics Mercado-Tidd defeated Cruisers Fastpitch VC, 10-0, Wildcats-Hunter, 4-0, Firecrackers-McVeigh, 8-4, and Cruisers Fastpitch VC, 11-2, in bracket play.

Calderon (.714 AVG, .750 OBP, 1.821 OPS, 1.071 SLG), 2027 3B/P/OF Addison Brown (.571 AVG, .562 OBP, 1.205 OPS), Eteaki (.500 AVG, .529 OBP, 1.387 OPS, .857 SLG), Huerta (.462 AVG, .562 OBP, 1.178 OPS) and McLaughlin (.462 AVG, 1.044 OPS) were Athletics Mercado-Tidd’s offensive leaders for the tournament
