Off the Field: A Special Birthday Wish Comes True for Adde Davison as a Baseball Hall of Famer “Coaches” Her on Social Media! (Oct. 6, 2026)

Adde Davison is best described as coachable and determined.

The Collinsville, Okla., native constantly seeks input from her high school and club coaching staffs as she chases her dream of playing collegiate softball.

So, it comes as no surprise that on her birthday she made a special request.

Adde reached out to eight-time Major League All-Star and 2018 National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Chipper Jones via a post on her X account.

And to her surprise, the Atlanta Braves legend responded a short time later.

Here’s a video that has her initial post and then the baseball legend’s follow up:

After getting over the initial shock that Jones responded, Davison dove into his message.

“I had no words at first. I was just in shock that he took the time to look at my video and respond. It just meant a lot for someone at his level to look at my video.

“Everything he told me, I’m going to take because he’s a great player. Him telling me to swing through the ball, I need to work on that, and then him seeing my home run is just crazy.”

Eric Bailey, her club coach, wasn’t surprised when he saw Adde had reached out to Jones.

“Adde’s personality makes it understandable that she’d reached out to someone like Chipper Jones. She wants to be the best player she can be and isn’t afraid to ask for advice. She’s one of the most coachable players I’ve ever had.”

Bailey was also moved by Jones’ response and appreciated the feedback provided to Adde.

“When Chipper Jones responded to her post, it made me smile. It’s not often you get a Hall of Fame player diagnose a swing. His advice was perfect and encouraging.”

For Adde, birthday wishes really do come true.

Growth in Size & Strength
Adde drove in 35 runs and hit five home runs for Collinsville HS this season.

Adde, a class of 2029 prospect, is very self-aware. She understands what it will take for her to reach her dream of playing softball at the collegiate level.

And to her credit, she intuitively challenges herself to improve. This likely stems from when she first started playing the game.

“In seventh grade, I was really little. I was smaller than everyone else. But I’ve grown into my body.”

Eric Bailey, the head coach of Pryme – Bailey, remembers the early years.

“It’s incredible how much Adde has grown over the past couple of years. I still remember when she was on our 8U team with a glove that seemed much too big for her.”

That growth, in large part, is due to her work in the weight room where she has spent hours improving her strength.

It’s been evident on the field as Adde went from one home run as a freshman to five home runs thus far this season for Collinsville High School.

Becoming a Leader

But Adde has taken steps to improve in the mental aspects of the game as well. She saw a leadership void on her high school team this season and confidently stepped into that role.

“Being a leader to me is keeping your teammates accountable and being a good teammate on and off the field, leading by example, and just doing the best I can for my team.

“I’m a very team-oriented person, and I believe that everything I do is for my team and my teammates. I like building connections with my teammates and letting them know I’m there for them.”

Adde increased her home run production from one as a freshman to five in her sophomore season.

Her leadership has helped the Cardinals steadily improve as the season has progressed.

Collinsville got off to a slow start but reeled off a six-game winning streak that helped the team finish the regular season with a 16-13 record.

“We’ve done more team activities, and we’ve gotten closer as a team. Just knowing our coach (Natalee Fuller) will be with us no matter what. In softball, you are going to fail more than succeed and knowing she’s going to be right there with us through it all means a lot.”

Bailey has seen her leadership skills develop at the club level as well.

“She takes command wherever she is whether it’s in the dugout, the outfield or the batter’s box. She can play anywhere on the field, but we like her in center field because of her range and her leadership.”

Looking Forward to the Recruiting Process

Consider those lessons learned as she continues to develop her skill set as she nears the time when she will make a college choice.

“I’ve wanted to play softball at a high level since I was young, and now that it’s almost here, it’s just crazy to think about. My goals are to still be a leader and help my teammates. From a hitting standpoint, yeah home runs are fun, but I just need to do whatever I can do for my team and just keep being vocal on the field and lifting my teammates up.”

Adde has been supported by her parents Matt and Brooke Davison and her brother Eli during her softball career.

As is her nature, Adde has been determined to make a name for herself in recruiting.

“It’s all about getting your name out there. And I want as many coaches as possible to know my name so I can get opportunities. I want to have opportunities, and I just want to play at the next level.”

And when the time for her to make that decision arrives, Adde has specific qualities in a program, and a school, that she is seeking.

“A big thing for me will be the connections with the coaches, and I just have to fall in love with the program and like where it’s at. With the coaches, I need to have a bond where I know that’s going to be my home, and I have to love the school.”

Looking for a Home Away From Home

Finding a home, not just a school, is important to Adde because she is supported and loved by her parents Matt and Brooke Davison and her brother Eli.

“My parents mean so much to me. Just taking me to all these tournaments and all these camps, it just means a lot knowing they have my back, and that I know they’re going to be by my side through everything. They’re going to be with me through my recruiting process, and they’re going to help me make the best decision I can.”

Wherever her recruiting journey ultimately takes her, Adde will make that program better through her playing and her leadership.

Coach Bailey summed it up the best.

“I wish I could coach a team of kids like her. She’s driven, motivated and wants to be the best. Watching her college recruitment will be exciting. Someone is going to get a gem.”
