Tim Walton and his Florida Gators coaching staff locked in a great one today when Brooklyn Evans, the catcher for Armor Elite – O’Neal coached by Chad O’Neal, committed to the University of Florida.

Coach O’Neal told Line Drive Media’s Brentt Eads this afternoon:

“She called Tim today and committed. They were very excited as was she!”

Brooklyn was announced on Sept. 7 as being ranked No. 3 in the Line Drive Media 2028 HOT 100… here’s how her bio read:

T-3—Brooklyn Evans, C, Armor Elite – O’Neal
Brooklyn is one of the elite catchers in the 2028 and some feel she’s No. 1. In the class thanks to her defensive command of games, which makes the entire infield better along with her athleticism around the plate, which makes the short game difficult for opponents. Head Coach Chad O’Neal says: “Simply put, opponents don’t run on her because she has a plus, plus arm and quick release.” Brooklyn has a strong lefty bat with home run power and great speed on the bases. Coach O’Neal adds: “She’s a talented five-tool player, an outstanding teammate, and on-field leader. Brooklyn’s father was a catcher at the Univ. of Tennessee, and the 2028 standout has younger twin sisters who also catch and play on a national team. A standout student-athlete with a 4.1 GPA, the junior from Acworth, Ga. had a strong summer with a .445 batting average, 24 steals, 44 RBIs and a 1.147 OPS. She was a PGF All-American and for Harrison (Kennesaw, Ga.) High was 1^st Team All-State and All-Region.
