LTG-Henderson/Buck picked up a 4-1 victory over Lady Magic-Munoz in the 18U championship game of the 11th annual Phil Mumma Memorial Tournament on Sunday at Foskett Park in Lincoln, CA.

Long Beach State-bound P/1B Payton Prior was outstanding in the circle, going 3–0 with a 0.44 ERA, 16 strikeouts and a .127 BAA, including pitching the final two games to defeat both Lady Magic teams.

At the plate, UC Davis-bound OF/MIF Abigail Sova hit .636 with seven hits and six runs, Boise State-bound MIF/OF Jolene White hit .545 with four doubles and five RBIs and Iowa-bound OF Cat Alston hit .533 with eight hits, a home run, six RBIs and 10 runs scored.

“What an honor to compete in the Phil Mumma Memorial Tournament,” LTG coach Joe Henderson said, “celebrating a great softball coach, who gave so much to the Sorcerer organization and countless players, while helping shine a light on those impacted by cancer.”

LTG-Henderson/Buck defeated Extreme-Cortez/Orta, 7-3, Lady Dukes NorCal, 13-1, Lady Magic-Tucker, 5-1, and Lady Magic-Munoz, 4-1, in bracket games.

Lady Magic-Munoz beat Unity-Ricks, 9-1, Team California Nationals-Denny, 17-0, California Grapettes Gold-Merrida/Kapp, 8-1, and lost to LTG-Henderson/Buck, 4-1, in bracket games.

16U: LTG-CARDA/PETTIS 4, LADY MAGIC-MUNOZ 3

LTG-Carda/Lewis edged Lady Magic-Munoz, 4-3, in the 16U championship game of the 11th annual Phil Mumma Memorial Tournament on Sunday at Rainbow Field in Modesto, CA.

2029 C/UT Kadence Pettis (.762 AVG, .760 OBP, 1.760 OPS), 2028 OF/UT Berkeley Lampe (.636 AVG, .667 OBP, 1.667 OPS), 2028 SS/OF Luci Bianchi (.471 AVG, 1.256 OPS) and 2028 OF/UT Briana Bowers (.467 AVG, 1.233 OPS) were the offensive leaders for LTG.

2028 P/OF Rachel Williams (2.80 ERA, 1.400 WHIP) threw a complete game to get the victory in the championship game for LTG.

LTG-Carda/Pettis defeated Suncats Jimenez-Rodriguez, 14-0, Lady Magic-Allen, 7-3, Suncats Jimenez-Moser, 2-1, Unity 2028-Nulick, 5-4, and Lady Magic-Munoz, 4-3, in bracket games.

Lady Magic-Munoz beat NorCal Legends-Edwards, 12-0, Cal Nuggets Futures, 7-0, Extreme-Woofter, 7-0, and lost to LTG-Carda/Pettis, 4-3, in bracket games.

14U: LADY MAGIC-MUNOZ VS. LADY MAGIC-BIGLEY

Lady Magic-Munoz and Lady Magic-Bigley both reached the 14U championship game and decided not to play the final, sharing the title at the 11th annual Phil Mumma Memorial Tournament on Sunday at Legacy Sports Complex in Tracy, CA.

2030 P/2B/3B Kylee Dean (.647 OBP, 1 HR, 6 SBs) and 2030 MIF Sophi Madrid (.833 OBP, 1 triple, 9 SBs) were some of the offensive standouts for Lady Magic-Bigley. 2030 MIF Maliya Harris (.987 FPCT), 2031 LHP/1B Macy Harris (14.1 IP, 20 SO, 0.43 ERA), 2030 1B/P Emilee Cosgrove (10.2 IP, 9 SO, 0.49 ERA) and 2029 OF/1B Nathalia Ruiz (7 IP, 6 SO, 0.00 ERA) were some of the defensive leaders for Lady magic-Bigley.

“This new team has played two events and made two championship games; PGF Org Challenge (and) Phil Mumma Classic,” Lady Magic coach Ryan Bigley said. “They are comprised of versatility both offensively and defensively. They’ve hit 11 HRs in both events. This weekend was great for the Lady Magic as an Org.”

Lady Magic-Munoz defeated LTG 2030-Henderson/Buck, 5-4, California Grapettes-Lopez, 8-6, Universal-Macias/Fuentes, 11-0, and DNP’d Lady Magic-Bigley in bracket games.

Lady Magic-Bigley defeated Cal Breeze-Warren, 6-5, Cal Nuggets Futures-Brown, 17-1, West Coast Elite 2031-Busche, 3-0, LTG 2031-Carda, 10-4, and DNP’d Lady Magic-Munoz in bracket games.

“This event is special to me because it puts the area’s best against each other, but also because I spent nine years (as) a Sorcerer (head coach) prior to coming to Lady Magic,” Bigley said. “We’ve won the Mumma several times along the way, but the homage to Phil, a great ambassador to our sport in his time, makes performing well in his event that much more meaningful.”

Lady Magic 2032-Munoz cruised to a 17-0 win over Sorcerer 2032-Moffit in the 12U championship game of the 11th annual Phil Mumma Memorial Tournament on Sunday at Arnaiz Stadium in Stockton, CA.

2032 P/1B Alexis Serna (8 for9, 2 doubles, 5 RBIs, pitched in 4 games), 2032 RF/2B Ayana Valencia (7 for 12, 1 double, 1 triple, 10 RBIs), 2033 P/1B Brooklynn Velez (7 for 7, 5 BBs, 4 RBIs, pitched in 3 games), 2033 MIF Tayah Johnson (9 for 12, 1 double, 1 triple, 1 HR, 9 RBIs, 3 SBs) and 2032 LF Riley Wallace (6 for 11, 1 double, 1 triple, 1 HR, 5 RBIs, 3 SBs) were some of the leaders for Lady Magic-DeBiasi.

Corona Angels-Reeves defeated Lady Magic-Willes, 8-2, and Universal-Kiss, 7-2, in bracket games.

Universal-Kiss beat Extreme-Haselhorst, 9-6, and lost to Corona Angels-Reeves, 7-3, in bracket games.
