USA Softball Announces Women’s National Team Program Rosters for 2024 World Cup and Japan All-Star Series

On Friday, USA Softball revealed the names of the athletes who have been selected to participate in two upcoming international softball events –

  • the 2024 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women’s World Cup

The 2024 WBSC World Cup roster includes four athletes who were part of the 2020 U.S. Olympic team and six members from the 2023 WBSC World Cup Group Stage that helped the Eagles qualify for the World Cup Finals.

The team also includes two rookies making their debut in the Red, White and Blue, as well as five athletes who have previously represented the U.S. either as a member of the USA Softball Junior Women’s National Team (JWNT) or WNT.

The 16-player roster includes 14 former student-athletes and two current student-athletes from four athletic conferences – Pac-12 (seven athletes), SEC (six athletes), Big 12 (two athletes) and ACC (one athlete).

UCLA has the most representation with four athletes followed by LSU with two athletes.

Other universities represented include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah and Washington, with one athlete apiece.

This announcement follows the prior release of the schedules for both teams (provided below).

Athletes were selected by the Women’s National Team Selection Committee (WNTSC) based on previous and ongoing evaluations at the collegiate levels as well as USA Softball National Team events, trials and camps.

Here are the details on each of these teams (note: information and photos courtesy of USA Softball)…
